  PBA concerned over foreign channels
  The Pakistan Broadcasters Association has expressed concern over the reports that foreign channels will be granted permission to start their transmissions in the country. In this connection, a meeting of the PBA was held with chairman Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman in the chair the other day. The meeting adopted a resolution demanding the government not to allow foreign channels to transmit their programmes in the country’s national language.

  Reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir Newspapers Association Soon
  Jammu and Kashmir Newspapers Association will be reorganized in 2007. A nine member committee has been set up. There will be no such discrimination. Participation from all stakeholders will be made certain. Ex President of Association Saleem Parwana chaired a meeting attended by leading newspaper editors, owners, and journalists. It is decided that new contacts will be developed to reorganize.

  Muneer Mengal appeared to scene
  Managing Director of Blaoch Voice TV Muneer Mengal has appeared to the scene. He was missing for last 9 months. His family suspected that agencies were behind his disappearance. A petition was also filed in Karachi High Court. But he himself appeared yesterday.
