Media team detained, prevented from meeting Taliban commander
Security forces, on the orders of Mohmand Agency Political Agent Kazim Niaz and Assistant Political Agent Syed Ahmad Jan stopped a team of journalists and kept them for two hours in protective custody while they were traveling towards Ghaziabad in Lakaro to meet Taliban Commander Umer Khalid. The journalists included Arif Yousafzai from The Post, Umer Younus from INP, Zafar from ARY, Aftab Ahmad from Aaj TV, Wahidullah, Rehmanullah, a Shabqadar-based correspondent, and Mostamir, a correspondent of different newspapers at Mohmand Agency. The media team had already contacted Taliban Chief Umer Khalid for a meeting. After reaching Ghalanai, the team met the PA and sought permission to go to Lakaro. The APA granted permission to the media team who then left for Lakaro. However, as they reached Kundao check post, their vehicle was intercepted by armed Khasadars. The media team was taken inside the check-post and was told that the PA and the APA had ordered them via wireless to stop the media team from heading towards Lakaro. Keeping the media team in two hours protective custody, they were forced to go back as they had been ordered to formally arrest the journalists if they attempted to move forward. Reaching back Ghalanai, the PA denied to meet the journalists while the APA at his meeting with the media team said the administration did not allow them to go to Lakaro for security reasons. "Some of the youth who were protesting and pelting stones on government vehicles near Lakaro forced us to disallow the media team to move forward," he argued. When asked it meant local population, especially youth, were supporting Taliban, the APA said he did not know whether the local population was supporting Taliban or not.

Malik Ismail's murder still a mystery
The federal capital police can not solve the mystery of Malik Ismail's murder, a senior journalist who was brutally killed by some unidentified people nine months ago. The instigators say that there was no immediate information about the culprits and the motive behind the murder which has shocked the journalist community already concerned about increasing intimidation to the journalists. After brief analysis of the federal capital police's performance, one can easily assume that their only purpose is to solve high profile murder cases and they were not willing to spare time to tackle cases which fall within the category of low profile cases.

FM Listening | What do FM listeners want? By Sehrish Wasif
few FM stations tried this but still no noticeable change has been seen in the theme of the shows suggested by the listeners. The new shows may or may not be to the liking the channels administration, but they would certainly be delivering what people want which is of course the FM channels often repeat when asked about the foreign content on their channels. This of course would also rid them of the blight of going against the nature and trying to impose their own choices for of course going against the nature is like going against nature itself.
