Bizarre sound bytes on Live FM radio
FM listeners of the twin cities while hearing live coverage of events pertaining to the appearance of the non-functional Chief Justice of Pakistan before the Supreme Judicial Council heard some 'bizarre sound bytes' here Tuesday. A private FM radio channel arranging a live broadcast of the event from the Constitutional Avenue with regular intervals at times aired sound bytes of the protesters containing derogatory remarks and slogans. FM live broadcast coverage of rallies organized by the leading opposition parties appeared to have given a new dimension to the government's 'free media' policy. However, some FM listeners were of the opinion that the selection of the sound bytes should have been within the limits of decency. It may be recalled here the same FM channel also arranged a live broadcast of the events emerging out of the Jamia Hafsa episode recently.
