Attack on Media Killing Journalist killed |
| |
A reporter of Daily Halchal, Hyderabad Rab Nawaz Chandio was gunned by unknown assailants in Khursheed Colony, on Monday night. He was going to his work place when some armed men opened fire on him and left him seriously injured. He was being taken to the Liaquat Medical University Hospital Hyderabad but he died on the way. No case was registered by Kotri Police till the filing of this report.

Intimidation PM AJK takes notice of case against journalists of Plandri |
| |
Prime Minister Azad Jammu Kashmir Sradar Attique Ahmed Khan has taken the notice of case against journalists of Palandri. He has directed Deputy Commissioner Sudhni and Divisional Director education to present report in four days and withdraw case against journalists. PM announced that journalists will have free access to information in all government offices. After announcement from PM, journalists altered their protest on eve of arrival of PM in Sudhni. In public meeting, PM also listened the complaints of media community. Journalists expressed gratitude to PM for his prompt action.

Media Protest Journalists condemn colleague's kidnap |
| |
Journalists staged demonstrations in many cities and towns of the province on Monday in protest against kidnapping of Haji Khan Lashari and Amar Singh Rathore, office-bearers of Talhar press club. In Hyderabad, Kawish and KTN group staged a procession, which started from the Sindh University Old Campus and terminated at the Hyder Chowk. The protesters condemned the journalists’ kidnapping and delay in their recovery. |

Journalists ask for media colony in Attock |
| |
It is victimization against journalists that district government Attock has not announced the establishment of media colony in spite district assembly had passed two resolutions. Chief Minister Punjab should take notice of ignorance of district government. It was stated by Senior Vice president Central Union of Journalists Atttock and city Nazim Rana Shukat Ali. He asked to implement the plan of media colony in Attock.

Media Miscellaneous Media, marketing festival starts |
| |
The Media & Marketing Festival has started at a local hotel as the first day of three-day event has begun on Monday. The famous personalities related with media and marketing of several national and multinational companies have represented their respected organizations in the event. Among Naw-e-Waqt group of publication around 18 organizations have set-up their stalls at the festival. The former Information Minister Javed Jabbar high lighted the media & marketing related affairs in his address.
He said that there was great in the country to adopt modern techniques of marketing and media can play a vital role to introduce products among the masses.
Meanwhile Reudigar Keppelmann Marketing Director Proton & Gamble Pakistan and other representatives have focused such issues in their speeches. After concluded the first session the participants on the festival have visited the stalls set-up by several organizations, in which most of them have visited the Naw-e-Waqt group of publication, the representatives who visit in the Nawe-e-Waqt stall including Javed Iqbal CEO GMC advertising company, Nadia Munawar of Jehangir Siddiqu group, Mehmood Pareek head of MCM, Abdul Raheem CEO of BRNW advertising company and also a number of heads and representatives of several companies. |

BHC to host open house discussion for journalists |
| |
The British High Commission (BHC) will organise an open house discussion for journalists on September 13, a press release said. The session would begin with an introduction by the visa services director followed by a discussion and an opportunity to ask questions. The discussion would focus on the UK’s migration system and would brief the participants on the role of the visa section’s risk assessment unit and its cooperation with the FIA and other agencies, the press release said.

District govt, Rawal Town administration at loggerheads.
The district government and Rawal Town Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) are at loggerheads over the installation of billboards, sources told Daily Times on Monday. Hoardings and billboards were a main source of revenue for the town administrations but the Punjab government had handed over billboards and sanitation departments to the district government last year, they said.

Telecommunication PTA seeks action against PTCL’s predatory promo |
| |
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) has started overruling PTA determination regarding the broadband Services. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) of the country have resented the most marketing promotion launched by PTCL for its broadband DSL services under which the new DSL customers are being offered unlimited download volume during first three months of their new connections.

Privatization Commission, Monday, regretted reports in a section of print media in which allegations of irregularities and corruption were leveled on the entire process of privatization of PTCL. The bidding process was internationally acknowledged as transparent and apart from Etisalat also included ‘Singtel” of Singapore and china mobile of china added the PC spokesman.
