Officials in plain clothes beleaguered journalist in Supreme Court |
| |
Officials in plain clothes harassed journalists in Supreme Court Karachi registry branch. They threatened journalists and confined in a room. Later they were released on interference from fellow journalists. Senior journalists Ali Hamza Khan, Asghar Omer and Jamal Khursheed went for reporting, they were harassed by officials in plain clothes. On receiving the information, journalists from Press Club reached the Supreme Court building. Journalist community and their organizations have condemned the incident.

Judgment in journalist's colony case reserved for Jan 16 |
| |
Civil Judge Azfar Sultan Syed has reserved judgment in the case, challenging the allotment process of plots to journalists of twin cities in journalist's Housing Colony in Lohi Bher for January 16 and also allowed office bearers of Rawalpindi Islamabad Press Club to continue the process of forms issuance and other legal formalities within ambit of law.

Journalist colony in Peshawar |

On the directives from Chief Minister NWFP Muhmammd Akram Khan Durrani, Provincial Minister Sardar Owais has decided to set up a committee to find out the land for journalist colony in Peshawar. Committee will present report to CM NWFP in ten days. He said the government believes in freedom of press.

PFUJ, APNEC threaten to boycott parliament |
| |
The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (APNEC) have condemned the government’s failure to implement the 7th Wage Award and threatened to re-launch their protest with the boycott of the new parliamentary session.

Jehangira Press Club polls |
| |
Elections in Press Club Jehangira were held for the year 2007. Mukhlis Khan has been elected new President while Mohsin Nabi will be the new Secretary General. Oath ceremony will be held soon.
