HRCP fears for missing Sindhi journalist's life

The reported abduction by the Thatta police of journalist Mehruddin Marri was a matter of acute concern and the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) joined the Sindhi journalists in demanding Marri's immediate release, said an HRCP press release on Wednesday.

Journalists stage demo against attacks on press clubs

A large number of journalists on Wednesday staged a demonstration against PML for attacking and ransacking Sahiwal and Peshawar press clubs at the hands of government representatives and demanded stern action against the vagabonds.

SC sends journalists' plea to LHC

A Supreme Court bench on Wednesday remanded to the Lahore High Court the plea of eight journalists for the grant of membership of the Lahore Press Club and subsequently allotting them plots in the colony earmarked for print and electronic media people.

FM Listening: Smoking Heart on FM 91

Last Friday, I had fun while listening to a show called ‘Smoking Heart' on Radio One FM 91. The title of the programme didn't give me any idea what it was about. At first I thought it was designed for people suffering from broken hearts. Soon Annie, the host of the show, said the programme included top twenty songs - in the countdown form. She played songs of number 20 and 19 on the chart.
