Letter to editor “No coverage” |
| |
It is not strange that international foreign channels, such as Al-Jazeera TV, report an event that took place in Pakistan. But what surprises us is the hush of our own Pakistan TV channels about it. Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, made clear in a press conference held here in Pakistan that Pakistan has to do nothing with the Jundullah terrorist group, that Pakistan sponsors this terrorist group which carries attacks in the Iranian territory rebuffing the statements of ABC TV, the US based channel. Neither has a single TV channel has quoted this statement in the press conference nor reported it.

Letter to editor “Fire for showing Indian film” |
| |
Madam Sangeeta, in her statement to a national Urdu newspaper yesterday, threatened to set cinemas on fire if they showed Indian movies. I humbly request the authorities to take notice of Madam Sangeeta’s statement. It smacks of hatred and will be a terrible blow to people-to-people contact and cultural exchange between India and Pakistan.

Letter to Editor “A tribute to Ahmed Ali Khan” |
| |
Asif Ansari Senior Producer, Pakistan Television Centre Karachi says “Some 25 years ago I had conceived and developed a programme in Lahore with Mr Rahat Kazmi as compere. One of the segments of programme was a quiz in which the participants were given broad hints to make a correct guess as to who the exact person sitting behind the curtain was. The first name that came to our mind was that of Mr Ahmad Ali Khan because in spite of being a very well-known person, no one had ever seen him in a photograph, in a newspaper, a magazine or on television. Later inquiries revealed that Khan Sahib was entirely unapproachable for a programme which projected him as a personality.”
