Govt’s media managers trying to quash rumours
The rumours refuse to subside. While President General Pervez Musharraf is not himself denying reports of an imminent high-level change, the government’s media managers are desperately trying to quash the speculation about Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. It was expected that the president would reject the rumours at his Taxila public meeting on Saturday, but he added to the speculation by reiterating that the present assemblies would complete their constitutional term, without saying the same for the government. All private TV channels, wire-services and even the official news agency, APP, reported so.

Fig leaf of media freedom “Gulmina Bilal”
Last week, the inquiry committee constituted to investigate the Geo attack gave its report. The report at best can be described as wishy-washy at the very least and an attack on press freedom at worst. The attack and the inquiry committee’s report actually exposed the government’s claims of “giving” press freedom. It started with pulling the plug on access to information of one man. It snowballed into an attack on the press itself. Soon after the meeting at the Army House, the Chief Justice was driven home although he wanted to go to the Supreme Court. Driving in a car sans the official flag, he entered his home devoid of access to newspapers and internet. According to Air Marshall (R) Asghar Khan, the Chief Justice’s telephone lines and TV along with internet had been disconnected, his personal mobile phone blocked, and the delivery of newspapers to him stopped. All the family was placed in a room.

Fm listening | ITP FM channel in full swing
It is most obvious, that where there is monotony with regard to anything, it eventually leads to a huge amount of boredom. If we take in to consideration our local FM channels many people would feel that almost all of the channels have similar transmissions. With just about the same themes and are usually related to the new generation, though there are a few (very few) programs for the old, kids and for sports lovers.
