Suspect ‘confesses' killing journalist
ISLAMABAD : A suspect held in connection with the murder of Malik Ismail Khan has confessed to killing of the senior journalist with an iron rod, The Nation learnt on Wednesday. Officials linked to the investigations into the murder of PPI's Bureau Chief in Islamabad have identified the alleged killer as Shafiq Khan, the source said. The official sources said that Shafiq was accompanied by two of his friends at the time of the murder. The suspect also led the investigation to the recovery of the iron rod used in the murder and blood stained clothes that Shafiq was wearing at the time of offence, the source said …

Journalists colony — Housing Department gets land
The Forest Department has given the possession of 200 acres in Loi Bher Area to the Punjab Housing Department for a journalists housing colony. A land documents' handing over ceremony was held on Wednesday wherein District Coordination Officer (DCO) Irfan Elahi, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Press Club President Mushtaq Minhas and District Revenue Officer Asif Qureshi were present.

Editor facing official action
The Northern Areas (NAs) administration will annul the declaration of a weekly, Chattan, if its editor-in-chief Habibur Rehman fails to appear before the Diamer Dupety Commissioner, a press information Department release said on Wednesday. Film on Iqbal nearing completion
Iqbal Academy Pakistan (IAP) will complete its first Urdu tele-film 'Iqbal' on the theme of 'Khutba (Address) Alahabad of Allama Iqbal' within the next two weeks. This was informed by IAP Director Muhammad Sohyl Umar at a press conference at Lahore Press Club Wednesday. Faisal Remhan, a prominent hero of the silver screen and proprietor of Rehman Productions and IAP project coordinator Nauman Chishti were also present on the occasion. "The tele-film will be released soon on Pakistan Television (PTV) and other private channels," Sohyl Umar added.
