MMA to resist media blitz against Islamic values: Baloch

Deputy Secretary General of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), Liaquat Baloch said on Sunday that MMA would resist the ongoing media blitz against the Islamic values. Talking to newsmen at the Quba Auditorium, he said that this media blitz was a deep conspiracy against the two-nation theory and Islamic identity of Pakistan . He said that the Islamic laws could not be ended through propaganda or use of force.

‘Illegal' FM radio stations in NWFP

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PERMA) said on Sunday that more than 100 seminaries were still operating “illegal” FM radio stations across the North West Frontier Province , stressing concern over the impact of these broadcasts on such a volatile part of the country.

Call to provide citizens access to information

Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) Pakistan has demanded of the government to make accessible to all citizens information and reports of the parliament and its committees as the house is being run by their representatives.

PTV transmission being expanded to UK: Ashraf

“Pakistan Television (PTV) is playing an effective role in promoting the country's culture in abroad through various cultural programmes”.This was stated by PTV Managing Director Ashraf Azim while talking to Patron in Chief of British Democratic Party and Convenor of Commonwealth Society International Tariq Gul Khan in United Kingdom, says a message received from UK.

Pak film festival cancelled

A Pakistani film festival which was to be held in India has been cancelled. Eleven Lollywood films were nominated for the festival. All the writers, directors and actors of these films were supposed to attend the festival. According to sources, due to some unavoidable reasons the organisers of the festival had to annul the event.
