Pakistan literary giant is dead
One of major literary figures in the Urdu language, Ahmad Nadeem Qasimi, has died in Lahore at the age of 89.
In a career spanning almost 70 years, Mr Qasimi published some 50 books and distinguished himself as a poet, writer, critic and journalist

Monitoring of cable TV stressed
Commissioner of Council of Complaints Abdul Karim Kundi has warned cable television operators against indulging in objectionable practices and urged them to respect the social norms. residing over the 26th meeting of the council here on Monday, he said cable TV could harm the society if not monitored properly.
