Main accused in Munir Sangi case arrested
The Larkana police have arrested Mullan Madad alias Madoo Unnar, the main accused nominated in the murder case of KTN cameraman Munir Sangi. Mr Sangi was shot dead on May 29 while shooting a gunbattle between Unnars and Abros near Baqapur.

FM LIST ENING: Eerie show
Listening to Radio One FM 91 was a bizarre but enlivening experience. It was roughly 5:30 pm and I was exploring the world of FM. The DJ was narrating the tale of some of his thrilling experiences at the show called ‘Radio TV.' It was for the first time that I listened to this show; therefore, whatever he was saying seemed quite unfamiliar to me.

Rise of rogue radio'
This is with reference to the article ‘Rise of rogue radio' (June 5) by M. Ismail Khan. Being a student of mass communication I have a deep interest in the emerging changes in the broadcast media and consequently in Pemra's role. Much as I would like to laud the writer and share his concern over illegal FM radio stations, I am constrained to comment that he has only peripheral knowledge about the technical and factual aspects of the issue.

Sir: While most of us can appreciate the need and growth of advertisements in today's media-oriented world, we should also recognise that we can't let firms make their presence felt among consumers at whatever cost they deem fit. There are numerous billboards and signs in our large cities.

Advertisement is highly essential in today's fast moving electronic media world where competition is immense. Every firm wants to be prominent among the masses by any legitimate means necessary. Print media and signboards are the mediums which assure to catching the viewer's attention.
