prove to be another control mechanism to influence the print media. It is a
matter of great concern for general public as well as journalist community
that idea of establishing a new regulatory body was not floated to elicit
public opinion before preparing the draft legislation.

LETTERS TO EDITOR |
| |
Redemption
Sir: One must give PEMRA some credit; it is not often, especially in
Pakistan that an organisation learns from its mistakes. After being
bombarded with letters in all major publications for discontinuing the
programme 'Loose Ends' it seems that PEMRA has put its act together and has
decided to retract its earlier decision. This is good news and PEMRA may
just have redeemed itself.
