RSF concerned about missing journalist
International media rights watchdog Reporters Sans Frontiers (RSF) on Wednesday voiced concern about the fate of journalist Mehruddin Marri, who reportedly went missing in Badin district on June 27. “Several local sources said that intelligence services could be responsible for his disappearance,” the Paris-based organisation observed in a statement issued worldwide.

Hazara varsity plans dept of mass communication
The Hazara University will open the mass communication department from next academic session and launch an on-campus radio station, says Vice-Chancellor Dr Ehsan Ali Khan. He was addressing the concluding session of a three-day training workshop on ‘disaster reporting' organised by the Pakistan Press Foundation.

Peshawar varsity to launch TV channel
Chairman of Peshawar University 's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Professor Dr Syed Shah Jehan Kakakhel has said that after the success of the Campus Radio and Bulletin, work on a TV channel would be taken up soon. He was talking to the students in the Campus Radio studio here on Wednesday. He said that the campus TV would be started with the help of the university administration and it would serve as a training centre for students of mass communication.

IFJ concerned over missing journalist's safety
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has expressed its deep concern for the safety of journalists in Pakistan after news of another journalist's disappearance possibly at the hands of authorities.

PTV Awards today
