New media policy in final stages
Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shahid Rafi on Saturday said the new media policy was in final stages and would be announced soon. In his address to the participants of a two-week capacity building course for information group officers at Information Service Academy (ISA), the secretary said the information ministry was playing its due role for ensuring press freedom as envisaged by the Constitution.

FM starts test transmission at NUML
The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) has launched test transmission of its campus radio channel that could be heard at the frequency of 104.6 MHz. The radio channel is named "FM NUML 104.6 Campus Radio."

Hunger strike for missing people enters 95th day
A hunger strike for missing family members entered its 95th day outside the Karachi Press Club Saturday. A large number of women and children have been part of the huger strike campsite that has been adorned with pictures of the missing political workers and banners inscribed with slogans pressing the authorities to release them or at least produce them in court so that the charges are known.
