Safma pledges to bridge Indo-Pak information gap

Speakers at the concluding session of Karachi-Mumbai exchange programme, organised by the South Asian Free Media Association (Safma) on Tuesday, vowed to continue their efforts for bridging information gap between the peoples of India and Pakistan so that they should know about common problems and exchange views and ideas in order to find common solutions.

MLO, others record statements in Sangi case

A three-member inquiry committee on Tuesday started probe into alleged negligence of the medico legal officer in the Munir Sangi case. The Sindh chief minister had formed the probe body.Dr Hadi Bakhsh Jatoi, director-general of the Sindh health services, heads the committee. Others members are: Dr Ghulam Hussain Shaikh and Dr Ghulam Qadir Kaheri.

But President Pervez Musharraf's suggestion for a media university should not be dismissed without a second thought because this venture, if it were to materialise, will be a different one of its kind.
