  Critique on Media
Letter to Editor “Freedom of expression”
Yasser Rizwan, “During and after the so-called Operation Silence, the media has been hurting the emotions of viewers by showing clots of blood and parts of bodies. Another example was a picture placed on the main page of a newspaper depicting Lal Masjid through the deliberately adjusted long boots of a soldier. This was an ugly, rather despicable show of the freedom of expression.”

  Media Miscellaneous
Media yet to focus on woes of tribal areas
Report by Hameed ullah Mahsud, “journalists are said to be the mirror of the society. Unfortunately these mirrors are only presenting the killings, murders, and bomb blasts taking place in these areas. Media owners and practitioners should highlight the pains and difficulties of tribesmen.”

The Post comes of age
The Post -- an English daily of the Khabrain Group of Newspapers, and a brainchild of late Ednan Shahid, who was also its founder editor -- turned 2 today (August 14, 2007). The Post was launched from Lahore and Islamabad under the dynamic leadership of late Ednan Shahid with the active support of his dedicated and devoted team. However, it is sad that Mr Ednan Shahid could not celebrate the second anniversary of his newspaper and passed away on February 9, 2007, while he was abroad. Mr Ednan Shahid's committed and dedicated team bore this loss with fortitude and is continuing its struggle with the belief that The Post was not only the brainchild of Mr Ednan Shahid but also a fruit of their day-and-night efforts, that have made the newspaper one of the main English-language national dailies in only two years time. Readers' trust has also helped the team in establishing it on strong footing. The Post has always tried its level best to provide its worthy readers with the latest and complete information.
