| |
A group of unidentified persons chased down the car of Kamran Rehmat, Editor of The News, Islamabad, in the wee hours of Wednesday before subjecting him to harassment in front of his residence. The shocking incident took place during the editor's return home from work. A case has been registered with Islamabad police, which has begun investigation. Describing the incident, Kamran, 37, said he left his office at the Jang Building Rawalpindi Wednesday around 4:10am on his way back home. "As I drove past the first signal from Faizabad, I sensed a car following my trail. Initially, I dismissed this as a suspicion even though by that time, the car had followed mine through all the turns to Peshawar Morh and up towards the road leading to G-10/1 where I reside.

Little hearts need media support, moot told |
| |
Media is paying little attention towards the issues relating to children and that is why these little hearts are falling prey to the cruelties of society. It is a combined duty of parents, teachers, government and media to play an effective role for bringing up children in an atmosphere conducive for shaping them as civilized citizens. These views were expressed in a media consultation session organised by the Society for the Protection of the Rights of Children here at a local hotel on Wednesday. The programme was attended by journalists and representatives of the Society.
