Newsman's murder Journalists boycott NA session in protest
Press Gallery of the National Assembly Tuesday remained vacant for around five hours as the journalists covering the parliamentary proceedings staged a walkout to protest the 'delay' in investigation of the murder of Malik Muhammad Ismail, an Islamabad-based senior journalist, and an unannounced ban on the nationwide transmission of Sindh TV for the last four days. Showing solidarity with the journalist community, PPPP and PML-N members also staged a walkout from the parliament minutes after journalists left the gallery. While the proceedings continued, Wasi Zafar, Minister for Law and Justice and Maj Tahir Iqbal came to the press lobby to discuss the problems for which the walkout was staged.
