Ban on Sindhi TV channel deplored
The World Sindhi Institute has protested against the ban on Sindh TV, a Sindhi channel that beams its programmes from Singapore which are said to have a sizeable viewership in Pakistan. The banning orders were issued by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on 8 November. The Sindhi rights group, based in North America and the United Kingdom, said it condemns this restrictive action and demands that the ban be lifted immediately.

No debate on PEMRA ordinance in NA
In NA, PEMRA ordinance was not debated. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Sher Afghan presented the bill, but debate could not be conducted due to PPPP opposition to the bill. Debate was adjourned after severe criticism from Syed Naveed Qamar and Ms. Sherry Rehman.

Journalist died due to doctors ‘negligence'
Alleged negligence on part of doctors of PIMS led to death of a journalist. According to police, Miskeen a Sub Editor Daily Ausaf was brought to PIMS emergency ward by his collegue due to chest pain. He was referred to CCU where he was checked by a junior doctor. Doctor referred him back to emergency, where he fell and died on spot. Mehtab Khan, the owner of Daily Ausaf has alleged PIMS doctor responsible for death. Executive Director PIMS has apologized and claimed that he would suspend the doctor.

Journalist died in PIMS due to ineptness of doctor.
A journalist passed away due to non professional and careless attitude of medical community in the Cardiac ward of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences PIMS. Muhammad Maskeen was taken to cardiac ward due to severe heart problem. The doctor in emergency referred him to CCU. CCU sent him back to emergency where he died due to severe heart attack. PIMS administration has suspended the doctor and an inquiry has been ordered.

The Nation journalist's health deteriorates
The health of Syed Wahab Kazmi, The Nation Karachi Bureau Chief suddenly deteriorated after he underwent a heart surgery. He was admitted to National Institute of Cardio Vascular diseases. The family has asked all to pray for his early recovery.

Journalistic English Urdu dictionary launched
The launching ceremony of book titled”Jadid Sahafti Angraizi Urdu Lugat' ‘Advance Journalistic English Urdu Dictionary' by senior journalist and broadcaster working with BBC London Syed Rashid Ashraf was held at Pakistan Academy of Letters. Minister of State for Information Mr. Tariq Azeem was presided the launching ceremony. Agha Muhammad Nasir was chief guest of the ceremony.

State Minister for Information Mr. Tariq Azeem has asked to promote journalistic language for media development. He was addressing a book launching ceremony at the Academy of Letters Islamabad. BBC Associate Journalist Syed Rashid Ashraf has compiled "Advance Journalistic English Urdu Dictionary'. Agha Muhammad Nasir was chief guest of the ceremony.
