NWFP compensates late journalist's heirs
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has announced Rs 0.3 million as compensation for kin of deceased District Correspondent killed by unidentified men and has said the government will take all-out efforts for the arrest of murderers.

Siraj, Daudzai condole with journalist
NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of mother of Habibur Rehman, senior journalist and joint editor of a local Urdu daily, who breathed her last the other day.

Arrest of cable operators for airing vulgarity
Following the district administration's raid and arrest of some cable operators in the city, cable service in almost half of the city remained suspended on Saturday, which is perplexing subscribers. However, the district administration has reiterated it wouldn't allow any one to violate rules and regulations set by Pemra and them in this regard. Shadman Colony, Gulshan Colony, Marghzar Colony, Chah Budhewala, Jinnah Road, Bhimber Road, Model Town, Mehmda, Khurshid Colony and its adjoining localities encompassing almost half of the city areas have been badly affected by the suspension of the cable service.

Media guide on British Muslims launched
The significance of inter-faith dialogue in the present turbulent world order was emphasized on the launching of a media guide on the British Muslims on Saturday. The British Council and the British Alumni Association were behind the launching of “British Muslims: A media guide” which had taken three years to develop for the people, particularly the journalists, in the UK.
