Concern over disappearance of journalist
Press watchdog Reporters Sans Frontiers has called upon the Pakistani government to explain the disappearance of Hayatullah Khan, correspondent of a Urdu daily and an European photo agency, who was kidnapped on Dec 5, 2005 in Mirali, North Waziristan , says a press release. The organisation said it noted the statement by a US diplomat on May 10, 2006 that the US was not involved in the disappearance.

Experts call for free media to help promote peace in S. Asia
Media experts believe that removing restrictions on a free flow of information and media-men between Pakistan and India and improving reporting skills would bring about a change in people's mindset and give a boost to peace process.

My reason for going to see Chaudhry sahib was that my editor wanted to interview important personalities for a special magazine supplement to mark Pakistan Day. The meeting continues to baffle me to this day as I try to determine what Chaudhry sahib meant by his words.
