A daily review of media coverage of media and communications issues
Pen more powerful than uniform
History has revealed another chapter of hard times. “In the line of fire... ” Yes, who is not in the line of fire? Me, you and the whole Muslim Ummah. Yes, the friends, the friends who are only friends in need and not sincere. They are wolves in the bush, yes these friends and allies. Their friendship is like facing the furies of nature. The course of history continues and cannot be reverted, but we can hope for hard times to roll backwards. Yes, the deeds of governments always face criticism from the opponents. When freedom of expression was not allowed, criticism used to travel through the exchange of thoughts and feelings. Now when there is freedom of expression, everybody freely expresses themselves. TV and newspapers are facilitating them. But where this is a source of pride and contentment, it also raises doubts about authenticity, standards of criticism and realism about events.
