PPP leader ‘take control' of NPC:
A Pakistan Peoples Party leader along with some armed party workers forcibly took possession of National Press Club (NPC) building at G-8 Markaz late Tuesday and dumped all its furniture and equipment in basement says a press release issued by NPC. NPC chairperson Fouzia Shahid has condemned the incident. Later the two sides the PPP and representatives of journalists decided to solve the matter among themselves.

Abducted BBC journalist released:
BBC reporter Dilawar Khan Wazir has been released by his captors, a day after being kidnapped in Pakistan . Mr Khan turned up shaken but unharmed in the BBC office in the capital, Islamabad , on Tuesday evening.

Amid public outcry, abducted journalist released:
The Committee to Protect Journalists welcomes today's release of BBC reporter Dilawar Khan Wazir, who had been seized from a taxi outside Islamabad by unidentified men a day before. Khan, who was not seriously injured, turned up at the BBC's Islamabad office this evening, the network reported.

By Syed Irfan Raza: Dilawar Khan Wazir, a correspondent for Dawn and BBC Urdu service, was released by his unidentified captors on Tuesday evening who had kidnapped him a day earlier and kept him in illegal confinement for more than 24 hours.

Tribal journalist released
Unknown abductors on Tuesday released a tribal journalist, Dilawar Khan Wazir, a day after his mysterious disappearance from the Federal Capital. Soon after his release, Dilawar reached the office of BBC located at F-7/3, Islamabad , with which he works.

A BBC correspondent who went missing on Monday was released by his kidnappers on Tuesday. Dilawar Khan told Daily Times that he was kidnapped by some unidentified men near the police lines in H-11 Sector.

Kidnapped BBC reporter released
A BBC journalist said he was released Tuesday by unknown men in the capital, a day after they abducted, blindfolded and beat him up. Dilawar Khan Wazir, from the BBC's Urdu-language service, said he was snatched from a taxi in Rawalpindi by a group of men who bundled him into another car and sped away. He did not know why he was targeted. "I was sitting in a taxi when five or six people grabbed me," Wazir said. "Then I was blindfolded and taken to unknown place. I was beaten."

BBC, Dawn journalist Dilwar khan had returned after mysterious absent. He went missing from I-10 Islamabad in mysterious circumstances. DSP police told media that journalist had not given any formal statement after return.

Media boycotted senate proceedings:
In senate session, media men from print and Electronic media boycotted the proceedings to protest the mysterious missing of a journalist. Minister for Information and Broadcasting assured the house that a detailed report of the incident will be presented in the house today. Press Gallery didn't cover the proceedings until house adjourned. Even no government functionary came to protesting journalists to persuade them to call off boycott.

Concern in assembly over mysterious disappearances:
The NWFP Assembly through a unanimous resolution passed on Tuesday expressed concern over mysterious disappearance of Dawn and BBC correspondent Dilawar Khan Wazir and called upon the federal government to ensure recovery of the people missing from different parts the country. Bashir Ahmed Bilour of the Awami National Party and Sirajul Haq and Mian Nadir Shah of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal tabled a joint resolution, expressing concern over the ‘disappearance' of Mr Wazir, a Wana-based journalist, and holding the federal government responsible for ‘forcible disappearance' of some journalists from the tribal areas.

Federation of Akhbar Farosh Pakistan organized a seminar on “Newspaper sellers' role in Newspaper industry” in Islamabad . Akhbar Farosh leaders from all over Pakistan participated in the seminar and reiterated their pledge that the whole community will become an iron wall against conspirers working against cause of newspapers sellers community. No one can end the role of Akhbar Farosh from society. In Punjab Assembly, house took serious notice about dishonor to word ALLAH in a book being taught in MBA syllabus of Punjab University .
