I was tortured to keep my mouth shut: reporter
Nursing a broken hand and leg, Sarung Masthoi, reporter for a private Sindh news channel, on Sunday told a news conference that influential tribesmen had tortured him.“This was the third organised attack on me. I was punished because I had reported on the illegal activities of some influential tribesmen,” he said.

National Archives: a prison of declassified files
Accessing declassified files stored in the National Archives of Pakistan is as difficult as obtaining classified data from any government department and even 50-year-old files are not allowed to be viewed, a Daily Times survey revealed. The department was established in the early 70s, but even after 35 years it has not been able to declassify a single government document from the thousands of files that it stores.
