Poet Zia ul Haq Qasimi passes away
Prominent Urdu poet and columnist Zia ul Haq Qasimi died due to cardiac arrest in Karachi on Friday. He was 71 years old. Late Zia ul Haq Qasimi was a celebrated poet of the country. He was born on February 5, 1935 in Amritsar . He started his poetic career at an early stage and achieved fame as a poet. Hare Bhare Zakham, Rug Zarafat, Zia Pashian, Chitar Khanian and others books by him have become the classics of Urdu poetry.

Minhas Art Gallery opening at GC University on Monday
Mrs Azra Minhas, Government College University Vice-Chancellor Dr Khalid Aftab, KM Siddiqui, Dr Ejaz Anwar, Mian Ijazul Hassan and other renowned personalities will attend the inaugural ceremony at Minhas Art Gallery and solo painting exhibition at GCU on Monday. A statement by the GCU administration said that the gallery was established to pay tribute to the artistic skills and high calibre of creative work by late professor Aslam Minhas.
